Cardinal - Cardinal & Delorme

“I want someone to tell me, what is the soul of a man?” This is a great show. SPOILERS!! From the main characters, to the snow, to the racoon, to the birches and the secrets, it weaves and melts elements together and pushes them apart. Voiceovers are at the bottom. Delorme comes to investigate Cardinal for corruption. She thinks it will be fast and cut and dried. That he is the enemy. It takes a while, but she does figure out the soul of this man. She finds a stubborn but patient, intelligent and caring man with a deep secret that is taking its toll. Strangely enough, by the end, you realize they are more similar than different and she is in pieces, too. Cardinal is pretty enigmatic throughout until he starts to crack when he realizes she knows his secret. I wonder what he is thinking earlier when she says “we can share this, you don’t have to carry the whole thing”. I kind of wonder about Delorme.
