Russian troops save injured Ukrainian soldier

A tense standoff turned into an unlikely rescue as Russian soldiers encountered a wounded Ukrainian soldier in no-man’s-land in the Donbas. As Russian soldiers patrolled a wooded area a few kilometers from Artyomovsk (also known as Bakhmut), they encountered a Ukrainian soldier lying in the underbrush. After ordering the young soldier to ‘crawl’ back to his unit, it became clear that, left on his own, he wouldn’t be crawling anywhere except his own grave – he was injured, with a wound to his leg. The soldiers dragged the man, crying in pain from his wounds, away to safety to be evacuated. Russian journalist Dmitry Zimenkin, who shared footage of the incident, said that the soldier was taken for interrogation after receiving medical treatment.
