Dozens killed in highway collapse in China’s rain-hit Guangdong province

The landslide, which left a nearly 18-metre-long (59ft) crater on the highway linking the provinces of Guangdong and Fujian, happened on the first day of the long Labour Day holiday on the mainland. It is the latest disaster to hit Guangdong in recent weeks, after the region was pummelled by flash floods and a deadly tornado.
