Mexico City holds mass nap to commemorate World Sleep Day

Hundreds of Mexico City residents took a nap at the base of the city’s iconic Monument to the Revolution. Probably, some of them were indeed very tired and just joined the flashmob, but most of the participants were making a point. Organized by the Center for Sleep and Neurosciences and the Mexican Society for the Investigation of Medicine and Sleep (SOMIMS), the ‘massive siesta’ was held in commemoration of World Sleep Day. It was also meant to voice (well, to whisper) concerns and push for sleep to be considered an essential part of health and wellness.
