GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Hurricanes () | Battle for Top Spot in Metro

The visiting Carolina Hurricanes came into town for a first-place battle atop of the Metropolitan division. Carolina would get the scoring started in this one with a score in the first period as well as in the first few seconds of the second to put them up 2-0. The Penguins would battle right back thanks to goals from Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby to even things up at 2-2 to end the second. Carolina once again struck early into the third period to take the lead and added another score later on. A goal from Evan Rodrigues in the last few minutes of play would narrow it down to a one score lead but Pittsburgh’s comeback effort would fall short, dropping this one 4-3.
