Advancing with Watercolor: Edges "Rainy Day, Newburyport"

This is a video done as a supplement to a watercolor class taught by Gary Tucker in Newburyport MA... In this demo I try to show how we employ wet into wet and dry into wet technique to create soft edges. These soft edges combined with rough and hard edges help us to create a focal point in our painting as well as to give us the sensation of a rainy s day. I use arches 140lb rough paper and bigger mop brushes to help this effect I have previously created a video demonstrating 4 ways the water-colorist uses edges and how each is a different technique : Thank you for liking this short video and for your comments.
