Mute It. Breaking Down The Language Barriers | Andrei Dragunov | TEDxFontankaRiver
It is common that deaf people often live like foreigners even at home, since there are few people around who can understand them. Is it possible to go beyond the language barriers in future? How can art help in these cases? How, with hard work and persistence, can one achieve what many deem impossible?
Born deaf Andrei Dragunov has managed to set on a fast growing career path of a hip-hop dancer. Visualizing music through his inner sense of rhythm Andrei has already built an impressive track record of successful dancing projects. His has been participating in various dancing TV shows in Russia, Ukraine and the USA, which gained him nationwide recognition and hundreds of thousands loyal fans among which there many physically challenged young people. Andrei also does quite a lot of social work giving back to the community through various motivating workshops and interactive activities with people who have hearing disabilities, proving by his own example that impossible is nothing.
