Santa Claus for 3D printing - Foldable, Print-in-place, Christmas item
STL-
I wanted to design a very well-crafted Santa Claus character. But since I don’t have much experience with character design, I put it off for a while. However, as I have now gained experience in character design for 3D printing, I have decided to take on the challenge of designing a Santa Claus character. The reason character design challenges are possible like this is because there are a lot of various assets that have been created so far that can be used for character design.
Designing a moving character, even in a folded or print-in-place structure, is somewhat difficult, and creating it also poses some difficulties. But that’s also part of the fun of making it. So, you need to be aware of the following precautions in advance:
※※※ Precautions for combining parts
1. When inserting the leg into the torso, the upper part of the leg, that is, the concave part of the upper thigh, must be inserted inside the torso with the left and right protrusions first, and then the groin must be inserted. Otherwise, your legs may not be able to move properly.
2. When assembling the torso, turn the part corresponding to the arm one turn on the horizontal axis so that it touches the front of the torso, as shown at the time the print is completed, then slightly push the shoulder into the groove and turn it one more turn. When joining the back of the body, you must make sure that the hinge of the back of the body moves forward along the rail. You should definitely check out the video for this part.
3. When joining the white parts at the back of the body, make sure the curved side faces down.
4. Before assembling the eyes, make sure that the part with the highest slope of the eye is placed toward the center of the face.
5. When joining the white parts of the legs, make sure the curved side faces down.
6. When attaching the shoes to the leg parts, you can attach them relatively smoothly by turning and pushing them in little by little in accordance with the ball shape.
※※※ We recommend that you check the video several times and check it again before combining. ※※※
We hope you have a Merry Christmas with this Santa Claus character!
