Death toll rises to 302 in central China’s Henan, 50 still missing

For more: Officials in central China’s Henan Province on Monday raised the death toll from devastating floods to 302 with 50 still missing. The province is still counting the cost two weeks after record-breaking rainfall swamped the provincial capital of Zhengzhou, where floods trapped hundreds of passengers inside one of the city’s subway stations and turned streets into raging rivers. Direct economic losses now stand at more than 110 billion yuan or nearly $17 billion. China’s State Council has set up an investigation team led by the Ministry of Emergency Management.
