Demis Roussos at “The Don Lane Show“ (*)

(*) Here I express my rejection of a type of grotesque humor, almost bullying, that some comedians perform by parodying an artist’s work in a such annoying way. Although Demis laughs during the show’s horrible guest comedian performance, I imagine it must have been uncomfortable watching a loser making fun of his voice. Unfortunately, many people and even critics were unable to understand the persona created by Demis Roussos. A man of Mediterranean origin who went beyond the preconceived concept of the star in a suit singing romantic songs, or the modern rocker singing pop music. Demis could sing any genre with his powerful, velvety voice. He could dress any way. Be over weigh or not . Nothing could change his talent. Although all of this could only be felt to those who understood Demis Roussos. I was reluctant to keep the presentation of the man who poses as a comedian in the video. For me, a poorly staged humorous scene, in tremendous bad taste. I finally decided to keep it, because Demis had a remarkable elegance every time they invited him to a program and made him watch or participate in acts of tremendous bad taste like this. Plus: his musical performances are, as always, impeccable.
