Rubber Masks (1968)

Chessington, Surrey. A person wearing King Kong mask is looking in the mirror. Man, Mr Dyke Richens, takes the mask off and corrects the eye colour with a small brush. He makes rubber masks as a hobby. Monkey’s head sculpture is the first stage of the mask making. One has to be a good sculptor to be able to make a good mask. Mr Richens is seen sculpting the head which is further used as a mould onto which rubber is poured to shape a mask. Mr Richens is seen cutting the excess rubber around the ears. Camera shows many finished masks hanging on the walls of a workshop - it would be fun having some of them. Film finishes with Mr Richens doing finishing touches on monkey’s head and trying it on. C/U of Mr Richens as a very sweet green monkey. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
