Set in Iraq near the end of its invasion by the United States (May 2003), the game focuses on five characters—four Americans working for the U.S. Armed Forces and one Iraqi working for the country’s Republican Guard—who fall into an ancient Akkadian temple after the former are ambushed during a military raid. They have to find a way out of the underground structure and avoid the vampiric entities that infest the area. Due to the threats, the game frequently explores the theme of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend“.
