The US decision to drop celebrations of the 1945 meeting of American and Soviet soldiers at the Elbe River in Germany was a mist

The US decision to drop celebrations of the 1945 meeting of American and Soviet soldiers at the Elbe River in Germany was a mistake, Frank Cohn, a 98-year-old American WWII veteran who participated in the encounter, told TASS.  According to him, there are some military people in the US who would be willing to remember the WWII days with the Russians. Cohn also lamented that sometimes, the US government had not even spent money on wreaths for the ceremonies held at the Spirit of the Elbe memorial at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. This was why he decided to buy wreaths himself, the war veteran said. Video: TASS Source: TASS Russian news agency
