LAIR & Monica Hapsari - “Setan Dolbon“ (Dolbon, The Demon) Music Video

LAIR “Setan Dolbon“ from the the sextet’s sophomore LP “Ngélar“ The full album to be released in February 23rd via Guruguru Brain and in collaboration with Orange Cliff Records. Jatiwangi Pantura-soul outfit LAIR and producer/songwriter Monica Hapsari’s “Setan Dolbon“ tells the story of a public-defecating spectre that caused quite a pandemonium in a number of villages in Jatiwangi, Indonesia. As speculations about the fecal matter(s)’s origin were spinning uncontrollably, people started pointing fingers and firing off baseless suspicions towards each other. Prompting even the local police to take part in Siskamling (local community security system). Situation took a stranger turn when rumours surfaced about the sudden disappearance of ruyuk bambu kuning bushes—a plant that the locals believe to be a countermeasure from black magic—at each of the spectre’s crime scenes. It led to more social unrest as suspicions grew into outright slanders thrown towards people that suddenly became part of the haves.
