This microscopic worm has two heads and three eyes!

Planaria worms regenerate parts of their bodies when cut - it’s an incredible ability and to do this, the planaria use adult stem cells called neoblasts; these can differentiate into any part! These amazing micro worms serve as a neurological model for scientists and may hold answers to the complexity of the human brain. Many believe that by studying these creatures, treatments for brain damage and other neurological damage may be identified. Please note - these worms were not harmed for the purpose of this video and were merely sourced in from a very large batch - I searched through a lot of worms to find these particular ones - They are considered to be pests in aquarium setups and may become spliced and sliced in filter systems - but this is of no trouble for the worm as it either regenerates or multiplies when sliced. #shorts #neuroscience #planaria #worm #microscope #regenerate #stem #educational
