Beltane is the time to honour and celebrate life, and festivities go from sunset of April 30th until sunset of May 1st. Maypoles, bonfires, fertility and cleansing rituals are all typical of Beltane. Another common practice is what is called A-Maying, where individuals or groups go out into the woods at night and revel in the embrace of Nature, welcoming the return of Summer. It is a great time for fertility and cleansing rituals, as well as seeking assistance in making changes in your life and new beginnings. Some other common practices include crafting flower crowns, wish boxes, etc. It is called many names and differ from region to region. In Germany it is called Walpurgisnacht, in Sweden it is called Valborgsmässoafton. But there is no rules or traditions dictating a right way.
