It focuses on the bombing and arson campaign by British suffragettes between 1912 and 1914, as well as the death of suffragette Emily Davison during the 1913 Epsom Derby. The newsreel also documents the Siege of Sidney on January 3, 1911, featuring footage of a young Home Secretary Winston Churchill coordinating operations. The siege involved British military and police forces battling two Latvian gang members, accomplices of George Gardstein, responsible for the Houndsditch armed robbery in December 1910 resulting in the deaths of three policemen and Gardstein himself.
