*5-minute version* Artist Nelson Shanks (1937-2015) painted actress Marisa Tomei at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2002. Nelson painted the portraits of royalty, presidents, and cultural icons, having many sittings with his subjects. His paintings are on view at destinations such as The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, The Metropolitan Opera House, Princess Diana’s ancestral family home, Althorp, in Northamptonshire, and in innumerable private collections across the United States and Europe. Nelson and his wife Leona founded Studio Incamminati, School of Contemporary Realist Art in Philadelphia in 2002.
