Dublin in 1897 - Restored Footage

Restored footage from 1897 of firefighters passing by the camera on their way to a fire, followed by a large crowd of people that is eventually moved on. This footage was filmed by pioneering French filmmaker Alexandre Promio, who worked for the Lumière brothers assigned to market and present motion pictures worldwide. Between April 1896 and September 1897 Promio visited several cities around the world to demonstrate the new technology and capture footage. Footage frame rate increased, upscaled, and “colorized” by HistoryColored using AI technology.
