📃 Оригинальное описание:
The Bomfunk MC’s performing ’’Uprocking Beats’’. This band emerged as a Finnish hip hop sensation, igniting the music scene in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Fronted by the charismatic rapper B.O. Dubb, also known as Raymond Ebanks, and backed by the masterful producer JS16 (Jaakko Salovaara), the group brought a fresh blend of beats that resonated globally.
Their debut album “In Stereo“ (1999, Sony Music) kickstarted their journey to fame, boasting hit singles like “Freestyler,“ “Uprocking Beats,“ and “B-Boys & Flygirls.“ These tracks didn’t just make waves; they created a tsunami of popularity, especially in the United Kingdom, where they were adored. “Uprocking Beats“ even claimed the top spot on the Finnish Dance charts.
“Freestyler,“ the anthem that propelled them to international acclaim, became a sensation across Europe by 2000. Its infectious beats and B.O. Dubb’s infectious lyrics skyrocketed the single to the highest-selling track of the year in Europe. It conquered charts in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany, clinching the number one spot in many. Yet, its rise wasn’t without a bit of controversy—the UK radio version tweaked a certain line, and the music video had a noteworthy presence of Sony products.
After an incredible run, the group took a hiatus in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of chart-topping hits and an unmistakable influence on the hip hop scene. However, their story didn’t end there. In 2018, much to the delight of their fans, the Bomfunk MC’s reunited, reigniting the spark that captivated audiences years before.
