JoLang Reaction to “Call me quietly by my name” Choir of the Sretensky Monastery

Hello, JoLang is here again and today i want to introduce you to the song “Call me quietly by my name“ sung by the Choir of the Sretensky Monastery. As with almost every song in Russia, this is not a simple love song. In my opinion, it is a prayer of longing for the beloved homeland, a vain reaching for one’s family, the desperate wishes towards heaven, towards the White Light. It’s Russians, who sing like this when home is far away. In Russia they have so many different choirs: monastic, church and secular - male, female, children or mixed, and they all perform at the highest, professional level! This is real Russian choral culture! Nowhere in the world is choral singing as developed as in Russia! Let’s hug and love each other and listen to this brilliant masterpiece. What a wonderful performance and amazing voices. If we understand the meaning of the song, it cannot leave you unimpressed, even if you are not Russian, all you need is a heart and a pure soul. The walls are resonating every sound from every direction, the acoustic in this wonderful, majestic hall is brilliant. The Choir shows a depth of understanding of the works performed in the best Russian traditions, professionalism of the highest level! Thank you, that you have listened to this wonderful music with me, and thanks again to all who commented on my posts.
