How to use Tc Helicon playacoustic as audio interface to record from USB in windows 7

The Helicon playacoustic device is not plug and play in windows 7 but still it can be used to record live music via the usb jack connected to your computer. However it took me some time to set it up and use it in my audacity program. Here is the steps to get it working in windows 7: Open the Start- Devices and Printers menu and you should see play acoustic as an un-specified device, Right click to open sound settings, go to recording Right click and select “Show disabled devices“, You should now see playacoustic under the playback menu. Right click to Enable, and set it as default recording device. Open your audacity or DAW and select windows direct sound then analog connector(playacoustic). you should be able to record now from it.
