Landslide Blocks River (1964)

Unissued / Unused material - Russian titled newsreel material. Uzbekistan, Soviet Union / USSR. Aerial shots of the dried up bed of the Zeravshan River and the place where a landslide took place and on further the waters of the other section of the river. VS Rescue squads and local workers busy digging and fixing explosives, machines cannot help them at this stage for it is like quicksand. The workers stand back and the first explosion takes place. A further explosion and the water starts with a slow trickle to flow through and then the main gush and the river has no dry bed now. Aerial view Zeravshan River. (Dupe.)
