We just got back from a European tour and we were quite tired. It was the first album with our producer Aksu Hanttu and he was a ”little bit” confused when it was our current violinist, Hittavainen’ time to play and when we tried to wake him up, he said ”Fuck off” and turned on his side on the couch. Aksu looked at me and the look on his face, what the hell is this band and will this recording ever make any sense. That’s why on this album is way more accordion than violin. In the end Karkelo was fun to record and we got long and fruitful producer relationship with Aksu. Karkelo is maybe our most successful album from us and of course it is because of the song Vodka, which I wrote while on the toilet taking a shit. Shitting and writing the song took less time than the song itself.
