Drum Salute by Ballater Pipe Band Drum Corps in Tomintoul before 2023 Tomintoul Highland Games

Ballater & District Pipe Band Drum Corps giving a drum salute during their displays on Tomintoul Green. This was on the morning of Saturday 15th July 2023, before the bands started their march to 2023 Tomintoul Highland Games. The band were playing on the Green in the centre of Tomintoul and led by Drum Major Fiona Glennie and lead drummer Andy Yarnell. The Tomintoul and Strathavon Highland Games have been held for over 175 years and are always on the 3rd Saturday in July. Tomintoul is a lovely village in the Moray council area of Scotland, high up in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. Tomintoul one of Scotland’s longest running Highland Games, showcasing traditional heavy and light events, highland dancing, piping competitions and lesser known entertainments like tilt the bucket and barrel racing.
