2 x Panoz DP09B Superleague Cars in action: 750HP/12,000rpm, V12 Engine Sound!

During the Monza round of the 2020 Maxx Formula championship I recorded these two Panoz DP09B Formula cars managed by EasyFormula and driven by Christopher and Gilles Brenier. These cars were built on purpose for the Superleague Formula series, a championship born in 2008 continuing the concept of Premier 1 Grand Prix with the intent to have each car branded with the names and colours of a particular football team, in order to attract football fans to motor racing. Superleague Formula died in 2011 when the link with football was fading with more than half the teams no longer associated with football teams. The DP09 was produced by Panoz’s company Élan Motorsport Technologies and it was based on the 2007 Panoz DP01 Champ Cars. The organisers wanted a car that represented modern, high performance, single-seater styling, yet was also robust and user friendly, and had a performance target faster than GP2 but not in excess of F1 with a target weight of 650kg (without the driver).
