Germany: Antifa activists rally against Berlin bar eviction

Subscribe to our channel! Left-wing protesters including Antifa activists marched through Berlin streets on Thursday morning to protest the eviction of the ’Meuterei’ (Mutiny) bar, as the pub collective refused to leave the property since its lease ended in 2019. A massive police operation with as many as 1,100 officers were deployed around the eviction area to watch the protests. “The official owner has reached us because the bailiff wanted clear the object ’Meuterei’ (Mutiny) behind us to hand over the keys to the owner. For that sake she asked for our support and we guaranteed that,“ spokesperson for Berlin police Anja Dierschke stated while watching the protesters. Demonstrators held banners with messages such as “Defend the neighbourhood culture mutiny fights,“ and “Housing for all,“ as they marched chanting slogans. Berlin saw heated protests last year, as the housing project ’Liebig 34’ and ’Syndikat’ bar were evicted, with hundreds of demonstrators clashing with riot police. SO
