Rubik’s Cube Blindfolded World Record Mean of 3 - seconds
So many things to say. I’ll keep it short and discuss some other stuff in a breakdown/analysis video that I hope to release in the next week or so.
After starting blindfolded solving close to 4 years ago and averaging no less than 1:30, I semi-seriously had some conversations with people in which I mentioned that I wanted to become number one in the world some day. While this was never a main factor for motivation, I always kept it in the back of my mind as a real possibility that could one day potentially be achieved through lots of hard work and practice. The fact that I managed to do so now means much more to me than the record itself: I’ve learned what effective practice really means, that improvement takes time, that taking breaks is okay, how to deal with failure, how to handle stress, and countless other essential lessons. Cubing has really changed my life. Although I don’t often express this, it’s a good time to thank everyone who has been continuously supporting me, whether it be just by watching my videos, commenting, being there for the livestreams, chatting on Discord or in Person, it really means a lot to me. I’d like to give a special thanks to the Quebec, Ontario, and Northeast cubing communities for hosting so many competitions and cheering me on, my online cubing friends (you know who you are!) for their endless support and theory crafting, and most of all my parents for financially supporting me and driving me all over the place to be able to compete.
Keep in mind: this isn’t the end! I’m planning to practice harder than ever leading up to my competitions this summer, as well as hopefully starting to branch out a bit more into 4BLD and getting back into Multi.
