China’s Forgotten War 19 Siege of Hengyang

On 1945/08/15, Japan announced unconditional surrender. This marks the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan of China. However, this war can never be forgotten. In 1944, 100,000 Japanese lay siege to Hengyang City. After a 48 day siege costing at least 30,000 lives Hengyang surrendered to the Japanese.
