Telegraph Pole Planter (1965)

Post Office (GPO) machine that makes planting telegraph poles much easier, Bletchley, Buckinghamshire. M/S large green lorry pulling over on grass verge. It has a large mechanical crane device on top and telegraph poles. Various shots of two men in yellow hard hats operating machinery on back of lorry. M/S of man pulling lever to lower telegraph pole from lorry. M/S of man hammering in nails into side of pole. C/U and M/S of large drill or boring device being lowered. C/U of lever being pulled by workman to operate drill. Several C/U’s of pole planter making large hole in the ground. The drill is then lifted out. C/U of man’s hand pushing lever. Various shots of men operating crane like machinery to put the pole into hole.
