This documentary differs from others on the special operation in Ukraine. The film ’Rearguard Girls’ was filmed by a non-professional. It became the debut work of the State Duma deputy Maria Butina, and tells the story of how the real elite of Russia supports the special operation. The heroines of the film inspire those who are afraid to take responsibility and say: ’Who will help if not me?’ ’Their stories touched me to the core. They give part of their warmth to [the fighters].’ Maria Butina explains her choice of the documentary’s topic. The premiere took place in Moscow; more than 600 people came to see it.
