Pink paradise: See Ukraine’s stunning Lake Lemuria

Subscribe to our channel! Amazing drone footage captured a bird’s-eye view of the stunning Lake Lemuria in Ukraine’s Kherson region on Sunday. The lake’s unusual colour is due to its high salt concentration and a special type of algae and bacteria that produce the spectacular pink hue. Lake Lemuria has been dubbed the Ukrainian Dead Sea because of its high salt levels, and locals believe it could have been formed after a Soviet military plane crashed there in the 1970s, creating a large hole that was later filled by waters of the nearby Lake Syvash. Another legend says that the pink lake formed on the spot of a prehistoric Lemuria Sea. Ukrainians and tourists have started flocking to Lake Lemuria in recent years as the water is believed to have healing properties. #Ukraine #LakeLemuria #PinkLake Video ID: 20210830-028 Video on Demand: Contact: cd@
