Вильнюсская операция — военная операция советских войск 5—20 июля 1944 года; часть второго этапа стратегической Белорусской наступательной операции. Проводилась войсками Третьего Белорусского фронта под командованием Ивана Даниловича Черняховского и осуществлялась силами: 11-й гвардейской армии (командующий К. Н. Галицкий), 5-й армии (командующий генерал-лейтенант Н. И. Крылов), 31-й армии (командующий В. В. Глаголев), 39-й армии (командующий И. И. Людников), 5-й гвардейской танковой армии (командующий генерал-лейтенант танковых войск П. А. Ротмистров) и 1-й воздушной армии (командующий Т. Т. Хрюкин). ____________________________________________________________________________ The Vilnius operation was a military operation of the Soviet troops on July 5-20, 1944; part of the second stage of the strategic Belarusian offensive operation. It was conducted by the troops of the Third Belorussian Front under the command of Ivan Danilovich Chernyakhovsky and was carried out by the forces of: the 11th Guards Army (Commander K. N. Galitsky), the 5th Army (Commander Lieutenant General N. I. Krylov), the 31st Army (Commander V. V. Glagolev), the 39th Army (Commander I. I. Lyudnikov), the 5th Guards Tank Army (Commander Lieutenant General of tank troops P. A. Rotmistrov) and the 1st Air Army (Commander T. T. Khryukin).
