Weinberg: Complete String Quartets (I) | Danel Quartet · MarchVivo

The composition of Mieczysław Weinberg’s string quartets lasted for half a century and is articulated in three distinct stages. The first comprises his first six works, written in the decade 1937-1946. In these years, the composer broadens his aesthetic horizons, with the progressive increase of movements (from three to six). The first concert of the comprehensive performance of his quartet corpus is devoted to his early compositions.
