Allegro molto (4:10) Composed: unknown date Turin source: Giordano 30 Concordance: mvt 2 = RV 153 mvt 2 The manuscript of RV 126 has come to us in a somewhat disordered state within the bound volumes of the Turin archive. The middle movement, of which only the first page is autograph, is nearly identical to that of RV 153 in G minor (RV 126 contains five additional bars that were struck through in RV 153). Perhaps it was intended as a replacement for the original slow movement (not found in the manuscript). After the concluding allegro of RV 126, there follows a second version of the last movement of the aforementioned piece, RV 153, clearly not its intended place, and the source of much confusion to early catalogers. A short catalogue in Vivaldi’s hand, containing seven incipits, is preserved in Turin and lists RV 126 as the fifth item (see the beginning of the video). Accademia Biza
