First-day Performances of 8th April Spring People’s Art Festival Given The first-day performances of the 8th April Spring People’s Art Festival were given at theatres and halls in Pyongyang on Thursday. Among the audience were members of the festival organizing committee, officials, working people and youth and students in Pyongyang. Put on the stage were monumental hymns and famous songs of the times presented to the sun of Juche by the proud and happy people. The performing artistes were of art troupes and art squads of provinces, itinerant art squads and art groups of institutions, factories and farms. Those of art troupes and art squads of North Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces and itinerant art squads of cities and counties performed at the Ponghwa Art Theatre and the Pyongyang Grand Theatre. Those of art groups of Samjiyon City, Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, Wonsan City and Pyongyang Foodstuff Complex performed at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Central Youth Hall. The performance by illusionists and amateurs at the magic theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe vividly reflected the happy and worthwhile labor and life of the Korean people, revving up the festive atmosphere. The performing activities showed the revolutionary spirit and optimism of all the people who have turned out in a drive for the comprehensive development of socialist construction under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, holding President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal sun of Juche.
