Brazil continues to suffer from extreme rainfall. On Sunday, in the municipality of Gramado, about 110 families fled their homes due to dozens of cracks in the ground. Cracks damaged homes, sidewalks and even lawns. And on Thursday morning, one of the previously evacuated residential buildings collapsed. There were no reports of casualties. This phenomenon is known as a “mass movement“. It is caused by heavy rainfall and causes soil instability. Consequences include collapse of land blocks and landslides.
