Crochet Possum Tutorial – Crochet Applique Tutorial

In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet possum applique. If you would like to view the crochet pattern for free, it’s on my website at or you can download it from Ravelry at for $1 at and LoveCrafts at You can also subscribe to Kerri’s Crochet Newsletter and get a free copy of the Crochet Cat Towel eBook at For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (393) Charcoal, (074) Mercury, (106) Snow White, (222) Tulip, (110) Black and (238) Powder Pink for the claws if desired, but you could use Tulip instead. Crochet hooks, I used a hook and a hook for neatening. A darning needle to weave in ends. A pair of scissors. 2 black beads for the eyes. Thread and needle to stitch the possum together. White fabric paint or white thread for the white dot in the centre of the bead. The finished size will be wide x 12cm high (5.5” wide x 4.5” high) for the larger possum, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the possum in Catona will be 12cm wide x 11cm high (” wide x ” high). The medium possum will be wide x 8cm high (4” wide x 3” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small possum will be 7cm wide x 6cm high (” wide x 2.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
