The Clear Jump (1933)

United States of America. “Connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan is the famous Brooklyn Suspension Bridge - 135 feet above the swirling East River. And, early one morning came the Great Jumper.“ M/S of car moving towards camera on the Brooklyn Bridge. Car stops and man gets out. C/U of man wearing a black vest standing on the Brooklyn Bridge. He salutes the camera. M/S of him climbing up onto an iron girder of the bridge. M/S of him waving to the camera from his high spot. He takes a few drags on a cigarette (presumably to calm his nerves!) “It’s a mighty long goes...“ L/S of the man as he jumps off and hits the water. Men aboard a boat throw out a life belt on a rope. M/S of the wet man standing on the boat. He is panting. C/U of the man - he cracks a smile. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 646. Safety print exists.
