Allen Revival Team, performs “The Singing Slave“, the story of a slave about to be hanged by her master, who poignantly tells him (just before the rope is put around her neck) “I’ll be waiting up yonder, FOR YOU!“ This is a magnificent performance from one of the great black gospel singers of all time. Be sure to make it to the end, where Gene is filled with the Holy Ghost, and look for Brother Allen in the background, apparently sober during this meeting.
