Part 2 of 6 of the classic TV period drama from 1995. The Bennett daughters are horrified when their cousin Mr Collins decides to come to stay for a couple of weeks. As the Bennetts have only daughters, Collins is the natural heir to their country home Longbourn. And Collins has it in mind to marry one of the daughters - something none of the girls are particularly happy about! Meanwhile, the Bennett girls become aquainted with the mysterious Mr Wickham, who is in the regiment. And Elizabeth yet again encounters the aloof Mt Darcy at another country dance... Starring Jennifer Ehle, Colin Firth, Susannah Harker, Alison Steadman, Benjamin Whitlow, Julia Sawalha, Polly Maberly, Lucy Briers, David Bamber, Adrian Lukas, Crispin Bonham-Cater, Barbara Leigh-Hunt, Anna Chancellor, Joanna David and Emilia Fox to name but a few. This was a highly popular adaptation of the Jane Austen classic when it was broadcast in September 1995, and since then Andrew Davies’ adaptation has become the definitive portrayal of the novel.
