Jimi Hendrix NEWPORT REIMAGINED (bass part overdubbed) The Things That I Used To Do

San Fernando Valley State College, Devonshire Downs, Northridge, California. June 22 1969. The Things That I Used To Do --- The Sky Is Crying THIS REIMAGINED RECORDING CONTAINS AN OVERDUBBED BASS. The original recording features a magnificient and spirited solo by Jimi. The problem was that the bass player played the wrong chords during most of the song and that sumed to the fact that he had his instrument out of tune. You can hear Jimi encourage him to tune it up (1:53) With this humble overdub, Jimi’s performance makes sense for the first time in 53 years. I always knew his performance had the greatness of others as “Randall’s Island’s Red Hose“ but his emotional message was annoyed and blurred by the wrong harmony part. Even with that situation he kept the 12 bar structure in his mind right up to around 5:23 where I detect he’s already lost and confused by the bass player and then soon decides to stop the solo. ENJOY! I don’t own the rights for the audio recording and video. My gratitude goes out to the people who made them.
