FLOODS IN IRAN At least 69 people have died in a week as a result of large-scale flooding in Iran. This was announced on Sunday by the deputy head of the Emergency Organization of the Republic, Nejad Jahani. “The latest data indicate the death of 69 people in different parts of the country,“ ISNA quoted him as saying. According to Jahani, six of the dead are citizens of Iraq. “Another 45 people are listed as missing,“ he added. The natural disaster affected 24 out of 31 provinces of Iran, Bakhtiaria, Isfahan, Yazd, Lorestan, Mazanderan, Tehran and Cheharmekhal were the most affected.
