The Boxx was a Dutch band with Peter Vink (bass, ex-Q’65), Mirjam van Doorn (vocals), Frank Middendorp (guitar) Karel Stemmerink (keyboards) and drummer Geert Hoornweg. Bass player Peter Vink started The Boxx in 1982 together with his Utrecht girlfriend Mirjam van Doorn (vocals). Thanks to a successful performance during ’Los Vast’ an NCRV tv program, the group is is signed with Phonogram Records. They are Vandenberg’s opening act on their Alibi tour and a spot on Parkpop in June 1988. The Boxx released two commercial rock singles of which ’I Need A Love’ became a modest hit in 1987. Vink and Van Doorn continue with the band Veralin. ’I Need A Love’ reached #34 in the Dutch Top 40 on op 25 april 1987.
