Aikido in slow motion: techniques against MUNA DORI, chest (lapel) grab, by Stefan Stenudd

Munadori (胸取り), “chest grab”, is when the attacker grabs your jacket by the chest. Here are some basic aikido techniques against munadori in slow motion. I did the techniques in normal tempo, and slowed them down considerably in editing. Of course, speed is an important ingredient in all the martial arts. Still, I find slow motion fascinating to watch as well as to practice. If you learn to do a technique slowly, you can do it fast. In aikido, the smooth circles and spirals of the techniques become evident in slow motion. I think it’s beautiful. Uke was Stephan Schröder (@stephanschroder7611).
