Igor Oistrakh (in his early twenties) is soloist in this performance, which dates to 1955/56, of the Violin concerto in D minor, Op. 22, by Polish violinist Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880). Franz Konwitschny (1901-1962) conducts the Leipzig Gewandhaus Chamber Orchestra. I created this video with music from the LP pictured above, issued in the USA in 1956 on the Decca label, serial number DL 9842.
