Stone Figures (1955)

Mevagissey, Cornwall. High angle shot of a small beach. A woman walks along then stoops down to pick up pebbles. M/S of the woman as she picks up a stone. C/U of her hands as she turns the stone over, it has a natural pattern. She puts the stone into her basket then leaves the beach. M/S of the woman walking up a steep Cornish street. It is the sculptor Elinor Lambert. Interior of her studio in Mevagissey. She sits down with her bag of stones. C/U of a stone she is working on. C/U of Elinor’s face as she concentrates on her work. She builds other materials on top of the stone to bring the “figures“ within . C/U of some of Elinor’s figures. C/U of Elinor applying varnish to one of the figures. This recaptures the natural colours normally only seen underwater. M/S of some of Elinor’s sculptures in their natural setting - nestled amongst rocks by the sea.
