The song voices the self-sabotaging whispers telling women to be the meek, conforming, angelic versions of themselves society expects – then eviscerates those voices with bursts of explosive percussion. In Lucie’s signature tongue-in-cheek style, BLEACHBLONDE straddles the line between cynicism and celebration by blending relentlessly thumping bass with unexpectedly funky synths. Meanwhile, backing vocals give voices to the internal dialogue itself.
