Edges are also important because they can help define your focal area and they also keep the viewer’s eye moving throughout the drawing or scene. Both values and edges share a relationship and are usually determined by the contrast of certain areas of your scene or in this case, a portrait. Shading allows you to create softer edges, which in turn allow you to achieve more realistic renderings of noses, mouths, eyes, eyebrows, portraits, cats, and other animals. SITE: FACEBOOK:
