The Dadu River, China’s third largest, holds historical significance in Chairman Mao’s poem. Luding Bridge, a historic wooden arch bridge, is now complemented by the modern Xingkang Grand Bridge. This bridge spans the Dadu River, connecting Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. It’s a vital link in regional transportation, showcasing China’s infrastructure prowess. The bridge, completed in 2018, is a technological marvel, the world’s longest steel-tube concrete suspension bridge. It overcame seismic challenges and adverse terrain, symbolizing China’s commitment to progress.
